"This past weekend I traveled to Chautauqua, New York and stayed at The Steward House Bed and Breakfast, owned by Pam and John Brown. Pam is a local historian and an amazing quilter. She bakes delicious cookies and fantastic blueberry muffins. Her quilts can be found in each of the five rooms as well as in the common areas of the house; such meticulous craftsmanship. John retired from the construction industry to renovate houses (this is their 9th) and is the chef extraordinaire at The Steward House. Breakfast consists of two-courses with a fruit course and a main course. The first morning we needed to leave early so we requested a light breakfast. John served us a fabulous yogurt parfait with fruit, Pam's blueberry muffins and an egg casserole which contains a few secret ingredients (You will have to visit to find out what they are). Our second morning we were served a delightful greek yogurt soufflé (think a warm right-out-of-the oven cheesecake) and California eggs benedict. Our breakfast was served in the sunroom adjoining the kitchen. The large windows let in the light and gave us the perfect opportunity to see the birds and little critters enjoying their morning by the bird feeders.
Located just 12 miles from the Chautauqua Institute, this gem was the perfect place for my mother, daughter and I to put down our roots for a couple of days. The room was immaculate. I knew when we pulled into the driveway and saw Pam and John on the side porch to greet us that we made the right choice. I highly recommend The Steward House for its great breakfasts and other afternoon treats, comfort, cleanliness, location, price and, most importantly, its hosts. Next time you are traveling to or through the Chautauqua area, you should definitely stop by The Steward House for a night."

Little River, SC 7/12/18Extraordinary Stay!
"My wife Barb and I stayed with Pam and John before they were licensed to serve breakfast at the Steward House. It was a great experience then, and the magnificent breakfast each morning this stay made our time there last week extraordinary. They are excellent hosts, and shared their knowledge of the people and places to visit during our stay. I'm originally from the area, but still learn a lot every time I visit. Aside from that, the rooms and amenities are top-notch. We will be staying with them again whenever we are in the area"

Excellent Home away from Home
"This was my first experience at a B&B. The hosts, John and Pam made us feel like family. They greeted us on the porch with coffee and cookies. All of the rooms were beautifully decorated and welcoming. We stayed in the Gold Room. The conversations were educational and we learned a lot about the area. The breakfasts were The BEST!!! I would highly recommend this place as The Place to Stay when in this area. By the time we left, we felt like we were leaving family."
